Brooke Babington

Brooke Babington is an independent curator, artist and writer based in Melbourne. In 2012, Brooke was the recipient of the NAVA Curator Mentorship Grant for which she was mentored by Director Melissa Loughnan to curate Navel-gazing, Utopian Slumps, 2013. More recently she has worked collaboratively with Melissa to curate Between being and doing, Utopian Slumps, 2013 and has taken on the role of Director at new curator-led project space Slopes with Melissa Loughnan (Founding Director) and Helen Hughes as board-members and collaborators. Brooke has completed curatorial internships at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra and the Museum of Modern Art, New York and has worked on a number of exhibitions as a participating artist at artist-run initiatives in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. Brooke’s writing had been published in journals including Un Magazine and Art and Australia as part of Gertrude Contemporary’s Emerging Writers Program, mentored by Charlotte Day.
