That's a wrap on 2025

As we reflect on the past twelve months, we want to say a huge thank you for your time, your trust and your energy. To all the artists, audiences, partners and community of friends, we’re so grateful for your ongoing engagement and support.

It was an ambitious year of transition and transformation for us, yet our commitment to investing in and nurturing artists at the most critical stage of their early career has remained constant. This year we are proud to have supported more than 95 artists, delivered 44 programs and welcomed over 10,000 artists and audiences to Next Wave at Brunswick Mechanics Institute.

Your support means the world to us

We are grateful for our collaborators and supporters who back what we do. Thank you to our 2025 funding partners: Creative Victoria, Merri-bek City Council, City of Melbourne, Creative Australia, Generate GC (City of Gold Coast), City of Wyndham; and donors: Adrian Goldfinch, Bec Cole, Dominic Taranto, Drew Pettifer, Lena Nahlous, Marita Dyson, and annonymous donors.

Marking 25 years of Kickstart, we are relaunching this landmark initiative with an open call for Victoria-based artists, and with a renewed focus on experimentation, peer learning and deep community connection.

We also asking for your support to help us bring this vision to life. Our goal is to pay $100,000 to emerging artists over two years through our Kickstart program— no small feat, but it is a vital investment in the future of creative practice in Victoria.

Your donation will directly support artists and collectives from across the state to develop and present bold new work. Every contribution makes a real difference. If you believe in bold ideas, emerging voices and the future of art in this state, please donate.

Wishing everyone a gentle end to the year. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026.
