Alex Last (b. 1985) is a visual artist, composer and sound designer living and working on Muwinina land in nipaluna, lutruwita (also known as Hobart, Tasmania). Alex’s work explores the ecological and material entanglements between organisms and their human relatives, with recent projects focusing on avian communication and adaptation. Alex works in a range of mediums, merging scientific frameworks with socio-cultural and historical narratives to create immersive works comprising video, sound and sculptural artefacts.
