Running since 2001, Kickstart is how we work with emerging artists from around Australia to realise their immense, ambitious ideas. They come to us with the vision, and we work together for a year to build new art from the ground up.

It’s a pretty big task to premier a brand new, untested idea at a national festival, and we are with our Kickstart artists every step of the way. From the seed of the idea, through development and all the way to presentation, we advocate for our artists; offering guidance and support, a handy producer pal and opportunities for feedback, networking and professional development. This all culminates in the great and extraordinary time that is Next Wave Festival, a truly artist-led festival of brave, brilliant art.
