As the Next Wave office hurtles towards 2014, it’s hard to fathom how we can still fit so much into 2013! Luckily, here is the Pegboard to lay it all down for you.

Firstly, the NeXmas Fundraiser is next Thursday evening at Gallery ONE THREE, in the CBD. We hope that you can join us to round out 2013 and help raise some funds for the 2014 Festival artists. A fantastic selection of artworks have been graciously donated by current Next Wave artists and alumni. Please come to share drink with us and celebrate the end of the year.

Last week we welcomed the participants of our national Text Camp program, as they converged in Melbourne for an arts writing Masterclass. Read below to find out who they are and how they got on.

We also say Womenjeka to the 2014 JUMP Mentoring participants and we look forward to meeting everyone at the JUMP Intensive in February 2014.

And last but not least, there are two opportunities to join the Next Wave team before the end of the year. Read on to find out more on how to apply.

We look forward to seeing you all next week at the Fundraiser.

Executive Director

Next Wave News

NeXmas Fundraiser

Join us as we round off 2013 with an exhibition to celebrate the silly season and raise some coin for our 2014 Festival. In the spirit of giving, our alumni have graciously donated works for sale in this exhibition. By purchasing one of these works, you’ll give our Festival artists a little boost in 2014. With artworks ranging from coffee mugs to 2-metre long prints, this is the perfect chance to share a drink, pick up some excellent art and show your support for Next Wave artists, past and present.

Text Camp

Text Camp is an opportunity for emerging arts writers to upgrade their skills, get matched with a mentor, write about Next Wave Festival and see their work in print.

Following a rigorous selection process, we’d like to congratulate the 2014 Text Campers on their selection into the program. From Kununurra to Queensland and Northcote to Northern Territory, they're an amazing bunch.

Work with Next Wave

We have more great opportunities to join the Next Wave team in 2014. We are looking for super organised and passionate up and coming arts workers to support the team in two distinct roles. The JUMP Program Assistant will assist with the planning and delivery of the 2014 JUMP Intensive in February 2014, and the Admin & Ticketing Coordinator will work with Next Wave’s Business Manager to deliver box office and logistical aspects of the 2014 Festival.

2014 JUMP Mentorship Program

Next Wave is exceedingly excited to be working with the incoming 2014 JUMPsters. As the industry partner for the JUMP Mentorship Program, NW will kick-off 40 mentorships with a 3-day intensive in early February. We then go on to guide and advise this hugely incredible group of artists, musicians, theatre practitioners, dancers, writers and producers as they navigate their way through 2014.

Keep up with all things JUMP on twitter.
