The PACT Centre for Emerging Artists Tiny Stadiums Festival is now in its 6th year and it’s stacked with Next Wave Alumni.
Nat Abbott (NWF 2012, 2014) will be feeling the burn with Deep Flex, a highly physical, extra sensory episode of performance. This bendy stretchy interactive experience takes a bodybuilder, a dancer, loud music and live instructions to start some DEEP MUSCLE ACTIVITY.
Three warriors rise up to engage in sonic combat in Hossein Ghaemi’s (NWF 2012) The Deficient Of Solution Development: Quizzing Makes Remedy. Cross examining the idea of conversation, Ghaemi’s warriors take up questions as their weapons – quizzing through uncertainty with the power of the voice.
Bennet Miller (NWF2012) presents Vince, a series of short videos in collaboration with members of a rural greyhound racing community. For Tiny Stadiums Miller re-presents one video work, this time within the context of the Hotel, a traditional Australian site for camaraderie, sport watching and social gambling.
Ella Barclay(NWF2012) continues her work with Electroluminescence to create a sprawling network of line and light in WIDE EYES. Ella’s cinematic installations engage with the transfixing, impulsive and intuitive behaviours brought about by new technologies.
The festival brings together a unique blend of interdisciplinary emerging artists and performers transforming familiar public and pedestrian spaces in the inner-city. Newly commissioned works will be realised over rooftops, gardens, the Town Hall, shop fronts and also through barter and trade.
