Composer Nat Grant unites practising Australian female artists across generations in a melting pot of music, storytelling, and performance: a live celebration of her new podcast series, Prima Donna.
Prima Donna is a series of sonic portraits of Australian artists, with a focus on women who are trailblazers: first in their field. The portraits comprise sections of interview recordings collaged with Nat’s original compositions: telling these artists’ stories, in their own words. They are both documentary and artwork.
The night will features performances from Carolyn Connors, Dure Dara, Nat Grant, Brigid Burke, Ros Bandt, and The Brunswick Women’s Choir, with recorded contributions from composer and pianist Elizabeth Drake.
