A diverse bunch of emerging sound artists and musicians exhibit tonight at the RMIT Sound Art Grad Show, Subcarrier. Examining the possibilities of sound for artistic purpose, the subtle to the visceral, these beats cover the widest possible context.
Featuring current Next Wave collaborator Claudio Tocco (I’m Trying to Kiss You‘s Madonna Arms and James Welsby‘s HEX) and fellow RMIT Sound Art graduates, opening night will feature compositions exposing the relationship between audio, vision and kinetic activation. Alongside sound and video works, installation pieces explore the elements of sound, sculpture and spatial context.
In conjunction with the exhibition is the electronic release of the Subcarrier compilation album featuring a selection of tracks composed by graduating students. All proceeds from the album go towards funding this exhibition.
