Next Wave has been running our flagship Emerging Curators’ Program with program partner Gertrude for over a decade now. This year we’ve expanded the program by getting West Space, the Centre for Contemporary Photography and Craft on board too and we’ve received a record number of applications. Following a rigorous selection process, we’re now pleased to announce this year’s brill crop of emerging curators, hailing from across the country. Their projects traverse photography, performance, internet-based practice and craft, addressing a diversity of themes and issues, from the impact of the Internet to the ancient craft of hairwork.
These curators will be working closely with Next Wave along with the CCP, West Space, Gertrude and Craft respectively over the next 9 months developing their exhibitions for debut in the 2014 Next Wave Festival. These projects are experimental, powerful, inquisitive – we can’t wait to share them with you!
