The first round of artists have been announced for the Underbelly Arts 2015 and by golly, are we already excited for the year to come. Next Wave alumni Brienna Macnish, Sophie Kitson, Justin Shoulder and Tully Arnott join an excellent group of young artists who will participate in the developmental Lab and Festival, that once again takes over Cockatoo Island in Sydney.
Presenting ideas from across Australia the 2015 program will span visual art, performance, live art, sound, dance and digital practice. The first round of artists were selected on how they responded to the challenge of conceiving large scale works, framed by Cockatoo Island’s unique history and built environment.
The second round of applications for new works to join the already selected projects is now open. Visit Underbelly Arts to find out how you can get involved.
